Free laptop scheme for students usually means a state government programme. Vedicology Foundation does not provide laptops. Our own Study Material and Device Support is different, but real: textbooks, reference books and stationery, a tablet or smartphone, and internet data.
This is for young women who scored 90% or above in Class 12 and are studying at a government institution (government-aided institutions are not included). If you are past your first year, your marks so far also count — 80% or above in UG, or 75% or above in PG.
This is for the young women we usually support: girls who have lost a parent's support, across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, who genuinely need the help. We do not fund minors. This is support toward your books, device and data — never cash handed over for you to spend as you choose.

A scholarship pays your fees. But even with fees low or covered, missing books, a missing device or no data can slow down a degree that everything else about your record says you're ready for. This support exists for exactly that gap — for a young woman who has already proven she can do the work, and simply needs the tool to keep doing it.
Who qualifies for this
Four things have to be true:
- ●You scored 90% or above in your Class 12 board exams.
- ●You are currently enrolled in a recognised UG or PG programme.
- ●You are studying at a government institution. Government-aided institutions are not included.
- ●Your marks so far meet the bar: UG past first year — 80% or above in UG so far; PG — 80% or above in UG, plus 75% or above in PG so far if you are past your first PG year. Marks are counted up to the day you apply.
And, as with everything Vedicology Foundation does, this is for the young women we support. That means girls who have lost a parent's support, whose situation fits our eligibility categories. It's for those of you across Tamil Nadu and Kerala who genuinely need this support.
What this covers, and what it doesn't
This support covers textbooks, reference books and stationery; a tablet or smartphone, for courses that need digital access; and internet data support. It does not include a laptop. It is not cash for you to spend however you choose — it's support specifically toward what your studies need.
Government institutions usually charge little or no fee, so this programme does not pay tuition. Tell us your full situation, and we'll look at everything you may be entitled to — not just one thing at a time. For example, a student at a government institution may receive Exam Fee Support alongside this.
You can combine it with other support
You don't have to choose between this and a scholarship. A young woman may hold a tuition scholarship with Vedicology Foundation and still qualify for help with books, a tablet or smartphone, and data — the Merit Scholarship pays fees, not books or devices.
