It runs alongside your Final studies, not after them. That is why the full path from Class 12 takes about four and a half years, if you clear each stage on the first try. It takes longer if a stage needs a repeat.
CA course after 12th Commerce: what coaching costs, stage by stage
ICAI's own fees are low. A few thousand rupees at Foundation. Small amounts per try at Intermediate and Final. Coaching costs more:
- ●CA Foundation coaching: often ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 at a private institute.
- ●CA Intermediate coaching: often runs higher, into six figures. This depends on the institute, and on how many groups you take at once.
- ●CA Final coaching: usually ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh.
- ●The full path, coaching included: often ₹2.5 lakh to ₹3.5 lakh at a good institute. Some cost less, around ₹1.5 lakh. Premium institutes cost more.
Coaching is not compulsory. Some students clear CA through self-study, using ICAI's own material. Most students still choose coaching, to avoid repeat tries. Its cost is the real barrier.

A student with strong Class 12 marks, who truly wants CA, can still find the maths hard. That is ₹50,000 just to start, with two bigger fees still ahead.
