Can’t afford college? The Education Continuity Grant

You have already done the hardest part — you got into college and you started. Now the fees have become too much, and leaving feels like the only option left. Before you decide that, talk to us. This grant was built for exactly this moment: to keep you enrolled, steady you for a year, and give you a real chance to carry on.

The Vedicology Foundation Education Continuity Grant gives you one year of fee support so you do not have to drop out of college over money. It is for a girl who is already enrolled but can no longer afford her fees. It covers 70% of your tuition fees and 70% of your exam fees for one academic year, paid straight to your college. To qualify you need 60% marks, and you must not already hold a full government scholarship for your tuition. It is not a loan, and you never pay anything back. It is open to girls across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. And one year is not the end: do well, and it becomes your route to our renewable Merit Scholarship.

We support adolescent girls and women aged 18 and above. We do not fund minors.

What the Grant covers

For one full academic year, the Education Continuity Grant covers:

One full academic year

the Grant covers

70%

of your tuition fees

70%

of your examination fees

We pay this straight to your college or university — never as cash to you or your family. Your name stays on the rolls, and you stay in class.

Who the Grant is for

The Grant is for a girl who is already enrolled in her undergraduate or postgraduate course and can no longer afford to continue, so she is at real risk of having to leave.

To qualify, you should:

  • Be currently enrolled in your UG or PG course
  • Be at real risk of leaving because of fees
  • Have 60% marks or above — your Class 12 marks for an undergraduate course, or your graduation average for a postgraduate course
  • Not already hold a full government scholarship that covers your tuition

You do not need top marks for this grant. Sixty per cent is enough. The Grant is meant to catch you before you fall out of college — not to reward high marks, but to protect a future that is already underway.

One year only — and we say so kindly

The Education Continuity Grant is for one year only. We say that plainly, because a clear promise is kinder than a vague one. It is a single year of support — not a grant that repeats — meant to give you room to breathe and a real opportunity to take.

But one year is not the end of the story. It is the start of a pathway.

Grant → Scholarship

The pathway from Grant to Scholarship

Here is how one year can become much more:

  1. 1

This year, the Grant covers 70% of your tuition and exam fees, so you can stop worrying about money and put everything into your studies.

  2. 2

You aim for the Merit Scholarship marks during the year — that is 75% for a full orphan, or 85% for every other situation we support.

  3. 3

If you reach it, you can apply for our Merit Scholarship from the very next year — renewable support for the rest of your course.

That is your pathway, and we will walk it with you. The Grant is the launchpad; the Merit Scholarship is where it can take you.

If you grew up in a children’s home with no family at all, rather than with grandparents or relatives, there is a fuller programme made for you — the Care Leaver Scholarship, which funds your whole education at a gentler 60% bar. It is worth reading about before you apply for anything else.

And if you don’t reach the Merit marks this year? The Grant finishes after its one year — we will have given you the opportunity, and we meant it. If a sudden money emergency hits later, our Emergency Assistance may be there for you. Whatever happens, stay in touch. Getting this far already tells us a great deal about you.

How much does the Grant cover?+
